IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to institutional closings in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important that you check that any museum you wish to visit is open at the time of your planned visit.


Passes are available to HPL cardholders in good standing, who are at least 18 years of age. Make the reservation in-person, by telephone, or online (see button below) up to two months in advance. Beginning on July 15, there will be two types of museum passes available for patrons over 18 years of age who are HPL cardholders in good standing: Print-On-Demand or Pick Up and Return passes. Reservations may be made up to two months in advance and a household can reserve two passes a month.

Print-On-Demand passes can be printed out at the time you reserve them or at any time up to the date of your reservation. They do not need to be returned and are valid only on the day of your reservation. Please note that only printed passes will be accepted, not digital versions you have saved on a phone or other device.

Pick Up and Return passes can be checked out for three days and are obtained at the Reference Desk at our Main Branch and must be returned there. Check with the museum prior to your visit for hours of operation. For more information, call 631-427-5165 ext. 251.

Please note: a $10.00 per day late fee is charged if a PICK UP and RETURN pass is returned past the scheduled due date. After three (3) days past due, the patron will additionally be charged the replacement cost of the museum membership.
