Coming from a lower middle class background, Lucille Ball lost her father when she was three years old and lived with various family members in upstate New York. Leaving school to learn to act and model, she became a Goldwyn Girl and eventually a leading B actress at various Hollywood Studios. She was considered “washed up” as an actress and took radio jobs. When CBS offered to make the radio series in which she was starring into a television series, she would only consent if her Cuban born, bandleader husband could play the same role on television. And the rest, as they say, is television history! A memorabilia, book and autograph display is included. Registration is required. Open to all.
