Long Island: Parks with Stories to Tell
Monday, July 20
2:00pm - 3:00pm
Huntington Public Library Main Building
Main AuditoriumCelebrate America’s 250th by checking out some testaments to its success and grandeur – our great Long Island parks!
In all, there’s at least 70,000 acres of recreational and wooded parkland spread across Long Island, from Queens to Montauk. For this presentation, we will stop by seven truly unique parks: John P. Humes Japanese Stroll Garden in Mill Neck, Cedar Creek Park in Seaford, Belmont Lake State Park in West Babylon, two Smithtown favorites: Caleb Smith and Sweetbriar Preserves, the Connetquot River State Park in Oakdale, and we’ll end at Bayard Cutting Arboretum in Great River. You will find that they each have so much to offer – and their own story to tell! Registration is required. Open to all.
