Please join us to discuss “Human Personality" by Simone Weil (1909-1943).
We invite you to share in an exploration of highly regarded classics of literature, history, and philosophy through a discussion technique known as “Shared Inquiry.” Selections are from Great Conversations 5, available for purchase at the Main Library front desk at the reduced price of $10 thanks to a generous donation from the Friends of the Library.
Weil was the daughter of a secular French-Jewish family. She supported left-wing casues during the tumultuous 1930s, and worked in factories and farms in order to experience the life of the working class. In the years preceding the start of World War II, Weil started to experience mystical revelations, which led her to embrace Christianity.
