Join Irish-born Tom O'Reilly, Ph.D., Irish Historian & Storyteller, as he guides us through the journey of NYC ew York City irish immigrants in the 1800s.

Despite facing discrimination, including "No Irish Need Apply" signs, they persevered through hard work, contributing to building roads, bridges, Catholic parishes, universities, and healthcare. Over time, they gained civil service positions and political influence, eventually reaching the U.S. presidency. Registration is required. Open to all.

About the branch

The Main is located in the heart of Huntington Village, on the corner of Prospect Street and Main Street. The Main has a large auditorium and two smaller meeting rooms, one room for Children's programs and a conference room. There is also a Local History room located on the second floor and an Art Gallery located on the lower level.
