"Bright and Morning Star," by Richard Wright (1908-1960)
Johnny is a black Communist Party organizer in the deep rural South. Now, Johnny is on a collision course with the local authorities who want to thwart his efforts. His mother's efforts to protect him are inspriring and gripping. Wright's short story was first published in 1939 in the magazine The New Masses.

The Main is located in the heart of Huntington Village, on the corner of Prospect Street and Main Street. The Main has a large auditorium and two smaller meeting rooms, one room for Children's programs and a conference room. There is also a Local History room located on the second floor and an Art Gallery located on the lower level.
