Art is a need to express and a culture that has shunned and ignored Black artists did not stop them from creating outstanding, thoughtful, provocative art.
Black art can be political, rooted in identity, about race, social justice, or a means of personal expression. There is no one definition of Black Art, but through various media and styles, and unique perspectives and experiences we will explore several important Black American artists with Artist and Professor Chris Vivas. Registrastion is required. Open to all.
The Main is located in the heart of Huntington Village, on the corner of Prospect Street and Main Street. The Main has a large auditorium and two smaller meeting rooms, one room for Children's programs and a conference room. There is also a Local History room located on the second floor and an Art Gallery located on the lower level.
