Join Historic Cook Diane Schwindt as she explores the foods of Huntington, NY in 1875 to celebrate the library’s 150th anniversary!

Enjoy food samples that would’ve been served at the Huntington House and Suffolk Hotel the year the library was formed, and possibly even enjoyed by Walt Whitman during his visit to Huntington House in 1881! Other foods of the area during that time period will also be explored. Bring your appetite for history, learning and food!

About the branch

The Main is located in the heart of Huntington Village, on the corner of Prospect Street and Main Street. The Main has a large auditorium and two smaller meeting rooms, one room for Children's programs and a conference room. There is also a Local History room located on the second floor and an Art Gallery located on the lower level.
