Learn all about fireflies (aka glow worms and lightning bugs)!

Learn about fireflies (aka glow worms and lightning bugs): their life cycles, value as predators of pest insects, the threats to their existence and how you can help conserve and support them with Xerces Society Volunteer Ambassador Regina Dlugokencky. Founded in 1971, the Xerces (pronounced Zer-sees) Society for Invertebrate Conservation is an international nonprofit organization that protects the natural world through the conservation of invertebrates and their habitats. Registration is required. Open to all.

About the branch

The Main is located in the heart of Huntington Village, on the corner of Prospect Street and Main Street. The Main has a large auditorium and two smaller meeting rooms, one room for Children's programs and a conference room. There is also a Local History room located on the second floor and an Art Gallery located on the lower level.
