Understanding AI basics with Kimberly A. Hawkins.

Join Huntington Station resident Kimberly A. Hawkins, the visionary founder and CEO of Techodet, Inc. a leader in AI Governance and AI Executive Education, to gain an understanding of the basics of Artificial Intelligence. Ms. Hawkins will present an interactive demonstration of Generative AI Tool and will discuss the benefits and considerations of artificial intelligence today. Registration required. HPL cardholders only. Will open to all 3 days before the program, if space permits.

Kimberly A. Hawkins is the visionary Founder and CEO of Techodet, Inc. A leader in AI Governance and AI Executive Education, Kimberly leverages her deep understanding of artificial intelligence to guide executive leaders and organizations through transformative AI-driven strategies. Her company, Techodet, is a testament to Kimberly’s dedication to using technology to drive change and her unwavering commitment to ethical AI practices.

Born and raised in Huntington Station, Kimberly's innovative spirit was cultivated from a young age. She attended Howard University, where she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, providing a strong foundational knowledge that supports her current comprehensive approach to AI and technology. Before pioneering Techodet, Kimberly accumulated extensive experience in financial and technology auditing with premier firms such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, JPMorgan, Fannie Mae, and Capital One. This experience with Fortune 100 companies endowed her with a profound insight into both the financial and technological sectors, enhancing her current capabilities in AI governance. An accredited Certified Information Systems Auditor and a Personal Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation, Kimberly specializes in providing AI for ALL. Her studies at Yale University culminated in a certificate in The Science of Well-Being, and she further expanded her expertise through a Certificate in Diversity & Inclusion from Cornell University, enhancing her company's ethos of inclusive and responsible AI innovation.

Kimberly remains an active participant in her community as Trustee and President of the Huntington Public Library and has served as the 1st Vice President for the NAACP Huntington Branch. As a board member of the Huntington Station Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) Oversight Committee, she champions community-driven benefits aligned with technology advancement. She is also a committed member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and the National Council of 100 Black Women.

Kimberly’s accolades include the 2018 Woman of Distinction Award, celebrating her significant contributions and impact within the Town of Huntington. Her journey reflects a blend of innovation, leadership, and community service, driving her mission to harness AI as a tool for positive change and ethical progress.

About the branch

The Main is located in the heart of Huntington Village, on the corner of Prospect Street and Main Street. The Main has a large auditorium and two smaller meeting rooms, one room for Children's programs and a conference room. There is also a Local History room located on the second floor and an Art Gallery located on the lower level.
