Local History Tour: Sagamore Hill

Step back in time and see the "Summer White House" of 26th President Theodore Roosevelt and his family.

This in-depth tour will take visitors through all 3 floors of the home. During the tour you will learn about the Roosevelt family, the objects in the house and their meaning, and activities of the family while in residence. When thinking of Theodore Roosevelt, most people think of him as a politician, hunter, soldier and author. Touring Sagamore Hill lets visitors see another side of him - a family man.

This tour will take place offsite at the Sagamore Hill National Historic Site, located at 20 Sagamore Hill Rd, Oyster Bay, NY 11771. Please arrive ten minutes prior to the tour and meet the library group in the parking lot. Registration is required. HPL cardholders only.
