American Indians are as diverse as the countries of Europe. Each tribe has a history and unique culture of its own.
This program will be taught in two parts by Chet Lukaszewski, a retired high school Social Studies teacher, who has studied at the Institute of American Indian Arts, worked with Navajo leaders and visited tribal facilities in Oklahoma, along with developing and teaching an American Indian Studies course. Please stop by the main floor display cases to view projects researched and created in Chet’s American Indian Studies classes.
This is the second part of this two part series and will consist of a discussion of past and current issues related to the Native Americans. If you would like to discuss any specific current issues, please bring them to the first session to submit for discussion. Registration is required. Open to all.
