Learn how the Northern Bobwhite Quail can help control the tick population. These birds were once plentiful on Long Island, but their survival is at risk without intervention and conservation.

Families

The library will be taking part in hatching quail chicks with CEED (Center for Environmental Education & Discovery).  Learn about these ground-dwelling birds with Ranger Eric Powers.  Then visit our incubation area that will be set up to hatch quail that will be introduced back into the wild.  Follow us on Facebook to see when the adorable baby chicks hatch!  Open to all!

About the branch

The Main is located in the heart of Huntington Village, on the corner of Prospect Street and Main Street. The Main has a large auditorium and two smaller meeting rooms, one room for Children's programs and a conference room. There is also a Local History room located on the second floor and an Art Gallery located on the lower level.
