Please Note: This collection arranges our databases and other digital resources alphabetically and by subject for quick referral. It merges database links from Live-brary.com with the database offerings purchased by Huntington Public Library, which are so noted within the following tabbed alphabetical listings. We have removed the descriptive annotations to keep the lists compact, thereby minimizing "browser scroll". Complete descriptive annotations are available in the "Databases by Subject" content area. These database products have been organized into two groups: those that are "available from anywhere" (provided you have an Internet connection); and those that, for a variety of reasons (cost, licensing contraints, etc), are only available from inside the library - and only from the library's public computers. Access to these products is not available from your portable devices via our Wi-Fi networks. For your convenience you will find links to all of these in-library use products on the desktops of our public computers.

Comprehensive coverage back to 1984 is available from the world's leading financial newspaper through the ProQuest database. The first issue of The Wall Street Journal was four pages long and sold for two cents. Today, the paper is considered the preeminent publication for business news and information on financial markets worldwide. You get complete Wall Street Journal articles through our database. They are the preferred way to access the publication's information in thousands of college, university, public, and school libraries worldwide. The ProQuest database meets the needs of many different research environments because of the comprehensive, high-quality indexing. It covers not only complete bibliographic information but also subjects, companies, people, products, and geographic areas. Our highly trained indexers apply the subject terms from a controlled vocabulary of about 8,500 natural-language words and phrases. Each issue of every newspaper is indexed thoroughly, so researchers can easily access not only top news stories but also detailed information on the arts, sports, business, and popular culture. Even such items as editorials, editorial cartoons, and letters to the editor from well-known people are indexed. For each article cited in the database, an abstract of up to 75 words helps the researcher know if the complete text will meet his or her needs.
